In Claude, open Settings, then Privacy, then Export Data. Follow the email instructions and download the JSON file. The local converter detects the content structure rather than relying on the filename.

Claude exports can include extracted attachment text without the original bytes. The output keeps that distinction visible so you know what the export contained.

• Use the account-wide JSON export.
• Do not paste individual chats into the converter.
• Keep the JSON local and use the skipped report for missing files.
